Deaths and Births

Some unknown poster has gave us some information regarding current events in the lifes and loves of our fave Trongate Crew:-

Vicky and Brian have had a wee girl and called her Neve

and in reply to a post a while ago regarding how dodgy Argyle street McD's was due to the dead junkies in the bogs.....this anonymous information handler tells me that it wasnt that long ago there was an actual dead body in Trongate.

To this anonymous person I ask you to reveal yourself and give up some more information regarding both these events

The Recurring Nightmare

This Picture of Graeme Innes still gives me the heeby jeebies. This was the night the big man was drunk (well on eof many I'm sure) he was all for flashing himself for the camera.

Later he was pretending he was going to snog me! it was like a game of chicken and I thought he would chicken out at the last minute but he didnt and he kissed me....I can still feel his stubble the bastard!!! it was like those emery board things that ladies use to file their nails.

Anyways this image of Graeme is one of my worst nightmares. I'm getting flashbacks of pulp fiction and the guy from Deliverance saying "you sure got a pretty mouth"

Drinks Pulling

As a pish crewmember I was often papped onto Drinkspulling. Anyone who has done this knows how monotonous this job is.

This job had mystical time properties that would put einstein and Doctor Who to shame...... after pulling drinks for 3 hours you look at the clock and realise that it wasn't really 3 hours but a mere 5 minutes had passed..... and your hands were stickier than when you were at primary school and pasted yourself with Gloy so that you could peel it off.

Iain Main.... Man!!

The first store manager I met was the big guy Iain Main. Shown here as happy as ever in the stockroom.

Wasn't long after I started there was a big night out in the pub where I ended up calling him "concorde nose", Next day, when I had the flash back, I was crapping it to go in but the big guy was a sport... he took it on the nose...sorry I mean chin!!!

Circumstances surrounding his departure are sketchy....due to my memory of course.... but it had something to do with some dodgy stuff regarding his wife who worked in the office. Although I have been reliably informed that Iain actually went onto work for another branch after he left Trongate. But I'm sure there was some dodgy wife thing going on.

No idea what the Main Man is doing these days or where he went after McDonalds.

Christmas and New Years

Ah the good old end of year fight. Staff and managers wanting away on time for their last bus train home versus Gerry and the pound signs flashing before his eyes. One xmas eve/ Hogmany close Stacey Lee and I went to a friends house in Glasgow at lunch time and had a wee drink. When we came back I stashed my Vodka and coke in the lobby cupboard. It was great but after a couple of hours the effects were wearing off and I just couldnt wait to get out of there.... and get more drink!!

Many Thanks to Ricky O'Kane

Many thanks are due to Ricky O'Kane for coming over the other night and providing me with lots of photo's that I can add to the Trongate Blog..... photo's to look forward to are pictures of the McDonalds fancy dress day/ Iain Main former store manager and Wasim Akbar.... dressed as a terrorist for the fancy dress day with balaclava. :o)

Cheers Ricky

Heres a photo of Ricky getting jolly with Jane the manager from the 1994 trip to Alton Towers.... I always loved this photo as Jane was always the "professional" manager (in other words - percieved as slightly moody) and when I captured this little gem I was well chuffed.

Hip Hopper: Iain Monaghan

Heres a stunning shot of the one man hip hop machine Iain Monaghan (or however it is spelled)

Iain was a one man hip hop machine. He even wore size 42 jeans even though he was probably only about 30 waist so that he had the bagginess to the correct comfort level. Not content with going on about his musical abilities he also was an expert graffiti artist and even redcorated the crew room at the time with some cool graffiti'd McDonalds character.... this was before the current pish version of Ronald McDonald appeared:-

I mean look at the latest incarnation of Ronald here. Don't you agree that Monaghans version was far more classy. I much prefer the 70's retro pornstar vibe in the graffiti version.

Iain had a cool accent on account of travelling around a lot. A bit better than that guyin highlander.

As well as working in McDonalds Iain and his sister worked in their dads shop in their spare time.

Heres a picture of Lindsey Monaghan - I think she was a bit surprised to have her picture taken... by the way all these photo's were taken about Feb 1995!! was it really that long ago??

Lindsey was a lovely lass and liked some cool music as well... but surely someone should have pulled her up for that sloppy badge alignment!!! She even had the pleasure of going out with this guy:-

You know I have forgotten his real name but I remember that his nickname was "SAFEY" ..... Absolutely positive there was a George Park influence in that name though :o)

So what are the Monaghans doing these days?? I have no idea..... would love to find out.
What about "SAFEY"? from Blantyre if I am not mistaken. Again would love to know but absolutely no idea!
